Legia Warsaw lost its second match in the UEFA Europa League. This time Warsaw team’s footballers were defeated 2-0 at their own stadium on Thursday evening by Italian Napoli. The first half of the game was rather even.

Legia won 1-0 with Albanian FK Kukësi in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round. The only goal was struck at the beginning of the second half by Michał Kucharczyk. Bartosz Bereszyński passed the ball to Ondrej Duda, who ran into the penalty area and put the football back to Kucharczyk, who eventually defeated Albanian goalkeeper with a low shot.

Footballers from the capital of the Netherlands were prevailing distinctly in the first half which resulted in the only goal that was struck by Arkadiusz Milik in the 35th minute.

In the last game of the UEFA Europa League Group L Warsaw team defeated Turkish Trabzonspor at Łazienkowska on Thursday evening. Due to this victory Legia finished first in its group. The first goal was scored in the 22nd minute by… Trabzonspor’s goalkeeper Fatih Öztürk. One of the Turkish team’s defenders tried to stop Orlando Sa’s kick. After a poor game Legia Warsaw suffered its first defeat in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League. On Thursday evening the club from Poland lost 0-1 in Lokeren with local Sporting. The only goal was struck in the 7th minute of the match. Hans Vanaken, who got the ball from Junior Dutra, kicked the football so hard that Warsaw team’s goalkeeper Dušan Kuciak had no chance to hold it back.

Legia has won its fourth game in a row in the group phase of the UEFA Europa League. This time Warsaw players defeated 2-1 FC Metalist Kharkiv at Łazienkowska on Thursday evening. Thanks to this victory Legia has been promoted to the 1/16 final of this European tournament.

In the first game of the UEFA Europa League group phase Warsaw players defeated 1-0 Sporting Lokeren at Łazienkowska. The only goal was scored in the 58th minute of the match by Miroslav Radović.

UEFA Europa League group stage draw was made in Monaco on Friday afternoon. Legia plays in group L along with: Ukrainian FC Metalist Kharkiv, Turkish Trabzonspor and Belgian Sporting Lokeren.

Thanks to 1-0 victory over the team from Kazakhstan a week earlier, Warsaw club won 3-0 on aggregate and promoted to the group stage of this European tournament.

After Legia’s expelling from the UEFA Champions League, Warsaw players can only take part in the UEFA Europa League. In the first leg of the play-off round of this competition current Polish champions defeated 1-0 FC Aktobe in Kazakhstan on Thursday evening.

Today was a draw for the first and second qualifying round Europa League. Legia Warsaw will be played in 2nd round against the winner of first round match between Metalurgs Liepaja (Latvia) and La Florita (San Marino).

Legia Warsaw lost 0-1 in Lisbon against Sporting and dropped out from Europa League. Matias Fernandez scored the only one goal in 84. minute from free kick. After first leg in Warsaw (2-2) and second leg in Portugal, Sporting qualified to 1/8 finals of Europa League and will play against Manchester City. Legia will play another match this week on Łazienkowska street, however this time it will be a league match against another team which is playing in the Europa League - Śląsk Wrocław. Our rivals, who lost 1-3 against Rapid Bucharest have very slim chances of going through to the group stage. "Both teams will feel tired after the European cup matches, but will play to win" - says Maciej Skorża.

Emmanuel Emenike was supposed to break down Legia’s defense. However, in the first match, the Nigerian did not prove his value (he was bought for 10 million Euros). Spartak’s attacker tried to excuse himself, by stating that he still needs time to adjust to the Moscow-based team’s style of playing. Emmenual Emenike had this to say for the Spartak’s official website "The result isn’t bad, but I’m not satisfied with the way I played.

Maciej Skorża (Legia’s coach): After a good match from our side, it is unfortunate that Spartak is in a better situation. However, I have no grievances towards my players. They played a good match against such a team. I especially liked the first half - that’s how we were supposed to play. The rivals didn’t have an upper hand, and after scoring the early goal, we had many more situations to score. The second half was a lot worse. After the beautiful goal which set the score at 1-1, things became shaky.

Valery Karpin (Spartak’s coach): The first half didn’t go as planned for us. We were too relaxed. Up until the 25th minute we played poorly. Things picked up in the second half. The younger players had to be brought in on the pitch, and near the end of the match our gameplay was very good.

Marcin Komorowski, Miroslav Radović and Manu received yellow cards in the first match against Spartak Moscow in the 4th qualifying round of the Europa League. All three players will not be able to participate in the match in Russia next week, since they received yellow cards in the previous match against the Turkish Gaziantepspor.

Ivica Vrdoljak received a yellow card in the second leg match of the 3rd qualifying round of the Europa League. Legia’s captain also received a yellow card the week before, in Turkey, which means that he will not be taken into consideration for the next Europa League match. After the match against Gaziantepspor, Legia’s coach stated that "Vrdoljak’s absence is a major loss for the team. Luckily we have Moshe Ohayona, and now it’s up to Terzotti to prepare him for at least 30 minutes of gameplay".
