Jakub Wawrzyniak’s law case concerning using illegal stimulants when the player was member of Panathinaikos Athens has finally come to an end. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne exculpated the footballer from charges of the second case regarding taking anabolic steroids by him.

According to "Fakt", Panathinaikos's board would like to have in its squad Legia's footballer, Jan Mucha. "In Athens they're looking for a new goalkeeper. Although it seems that this is more important to buy a centre defender, the transfer of a new goalkeeper is possible in this or in the next transfer window. Everything depends on the fact when Mucha's contract expires" – confirms journalist of "Goal News", Kostas Goulis.

Jakub Wawrzyniak received from Greece written grounds for the decision of his one-year disqualification concerning taking illegal stimulants when he was Panathinaikos’s player. Document which was written in Greek has been translated into Polish. It means that the footballer will be able to begin the revocatory procedure in the face of the Sport Commission of Arbitration in Lausanne.

Last press speculations about the transfer of Jakub Wawrzyniak to Panathinaikos Athens were only false reports. The footballer of the Polish national team who was disqualified in Greece for three months comes back to Warsaw and goes with Legia to Austria to a preparatory camp on Wednesday. "I was aware of the fact that Panathinaikos's board wasn't going to extend my contract. I spoke to Greeks about this topic, that's why I'm not surprised of coming back to Warsaw" – said Wawrzyniak in an interview for Legia LIVE!. There have been recently some pieces of information concerning the fact that AEK Athens is interested in the player. "These were only some press speculations" – said footballer.

According to "Fakt", Panathinaikos Athens still considers whether to buy Jakub Wawrzyniak or not. The board of the "Clovers" can buy the defender from Legia on condition that they will be able to sell Wawrzyniak to another club this summer. The footballer was loaned to Athens in the winter break for 500.000 euro with a clause that after the end of the season Panathinaikos will be able to buy the player for one million euro.

AE Larisa's goalkeeper, Stefanos Kotsolis, didn't extend his contract with the club. That's why Greeks are looking for his successor. The one could be Arkadiusz Malarz loaned from Panathinaikos Athens. However, Jan Mucha also comes into play. Greeks are ready to offer the Slovakian footballer a contract of 150.000 euro. Nevertheless, this could be problematic, because it's hard to say how much money Legia would like to get for its goalkeeper. Player's contract with Warsaw club expires next year.

"If the information at the Greek website is true, then everything's very simple – Jakub Wawrzyniak returns to Legia" – said Michał Kocięba, Warsaw club's spokesman, in an interview for "Polska". It seems that the days of the national team's defender are numbered. Although Legia didn't receive any official letter, Greek club's intentions are obvious – it doesn't want to decide for the definitive transfer of the player.

Due to further positive dope tests and earlier three-month disqualification of Jakub Wawrzyniak, Panathinaikos Athens decided not to cooperate with Polish footballer anymore. It means that after six-month loan the midfielder comes back to Legia! There was an official information at Greek club's website: "Taking into consideration previous cases, club's board decided not to cooperate with the player anymore".

Jakub Wawrzyniak was disqualified by the Disciplinary Proceedings Committee of the Greek Superleague for using forbidden stimulants for three months. The defender who is on a loan from Warsaw club was subjected to a dope testing after the match against AO Xanthi. Both samples were positive. Nevertheless, the punishment is not going to be very painful, because the Polish player will be able to play since the third fixture of the new season.

It is possible that Jakub Wawrzyniak will return to Legia in the summer. Legia sold its left defender to Panathinaikos Athens, however there are some conditions which allow player to come back to Warsaw. The commotion is a result of the specific which was taken by Polish footballer to reduce his adipose tissue. The dope testing was positive. The second sample was also positive. "This was hard to expect a negative result" – said Wawrzyniak, who claimed that he hadn't been aware of the fact that the medicament he had taken had been forbidden.
