#CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE

Although Young Legia’s players defeated 2-0 (Górski’s two goals) their young opponents from Bytom (Młoda Ekstraklasa), they eventually finished as second place champions. This is due to the fact that Young Zagłębie Lubin won 2-0 its match against Young Lechia. Young Zagłębie is Młoda Ekstraklasa’s current champion.

Footballers of Young Legia only drew 1-1 with Young Arka’s players at Łazienkowska (Młoda Ekstraklasa). Due to this result, chances for the championship dangerously decreased. If young players want to think about the final trophy, they will have to count for a lapse of Zagłębie’s footballers in the last fixture.

Legia was defeated 1-0 by Ruch in Chorzów. The only goal scored Arkadiusz Piech in 46th minute. Just before the break, in 42nd minute Dickson Choto got injured and had to leave the pitch. There were about 9.500 supporters in the stands. See the photo-report

Legia was defeated 1-0 by Lech in Poznań. Due to this defeat (and simultaneous Wisła’s victory over Polonia) Warsaw footballers practically lost their chance to win the Polish championship title. The only goal was scored by Lech’s Stilić in the 76th minute of the match. If Legia’s goalkeeper, Jan Mucha, hadn’t been saving his goal effectively, Warsaw team would have probably lost much higher.

Śląsk Wrocław wasn't able to give us a surprise and Wisła won the Ekstraklasa. Lech Poznań which had minimal chances to be the first draw 2-2 with Cracovia. Legia took advantage of this fact, defeated 4-1 Ruch Chorzów and finished the Ekstraklasa on the second position. Polonia defeated 1-0 Górnik in Zabrze and will play in the UEFA Europa League. Górnik Zabrze and Cracovia Cracow are relegated to the Polish First Division. Arka Gdynia will have to win playoffs if it wants to stay in the Ekstraklasa.

"We'll be champions of the Ekstraklasa, because our most dangerous rivals will lose some points. I strongly believe in it, although I don't have any influence on that" – said Jan Urban two fixtures before the end of the season. Maciej Skorża is convinced that the championship will go to Wisła, while Franciszek Smuda bets on Lech. "Franciszek Smuda repeated many times that the most important aspect concerning the Polish championship title were matches of three leading teams against Śląsk Wrocław. He's right, however with one alteration – penultimate (so the next) fixture will be crucial concerning the championship title.
