In a very important game Legia lost 1-2 with Lech in Poznań on Sunday evening. The first half was quite matched although it seemed that Legia had been prevailing a bit on the pitch. Everything went quite well until the 62nd minute of the game when Legia’s Arkadiusz Malarz was shown a red card by the referee.

In the first leg of the Polish Cup quarterfinal Legia Warsaw only drew 1-1 with Śląsk in Wrocław on Thursday evening. Warsaw players had scored the goal seconds before the referee finished the first half. Its author was Michał Żyro.
Europa League: Legia 2-0 Trabzonspor

In the last game of the UEFA Europa League Group L Warsaw team defeated Turkish Trabzonspor at Łazienkowska on Thursday evening. Due to this victory Legia finished first in its group. The first goal was scored in the 22nd minute by… Trabzonspor’s goalkeeper Fatih Öztürk. One of the Turkish team’s defenders tried to stop Orlando Sa’s kick. However, he did it so poorly that the football hit Öztürk’s back and… found its way to the net.

Europa League: Trabzonspor 0-1 Legia

In the second match of the UEFA Europa League group phase Warsaw players defeated 1-0 Turkish Trabzonspor in Trabzon on Thursday evening. The only goal was scored in the 16th minute of the match by Michał Kucharczyk. Although Legia showed poor football during last twenty minutes of this game, the club from the capital of Poland managed to save its goal from Turkish attacks.
Polish Cup: Miedź Legnica 0-4 Legia

In the 1/16 Polish Cup final Warsaw footballers won 4-0 with Miedź in Legnica. Miroslav Radović struck two goals for his team, and Ivica Vrdoljak and Jakub Kosecki added two single goals. What’s worth mentioning is the fact that both teams had to finish the game with only ten men on the pitch because of red cards shown them by the referee.
Jagiellonia Białystok 0-3 Legia

Legia Warsaw defeated 3-0 Jagiellonia at their own stadium in Białystok on Friday evening. The first goal was scored in the 14th minute of the match. Tomasz Jodłowiec passed the ball to Jakub Kosecki, who saw Michał Żyro in the penalty area. He passed him the football and Legia’s midfielder found the way to rivals’ net. Eleven minutes later it was 2-0 for Warsaw club.

Warsaw players demolished their rivals from Łęczna after winning 5-0 at Łazienkowska on Saturday evening. Nevertheless, the first half of the game which ended with 0-0 draw didn’t presage such a nice finish. Although Legia was trying to find the way to its rivals’ net, its attacks were ineffective because Górnik’s players defended their goal quite well. Sometimes Górnik’s goal resembled a real barricade – so many footballers from Łęczna were present in their own penalty area.
Champions League: Legia 4-1 Celtic Football Club

After an unbelievable and simultaneously tremendous evening Legia’s players thrashed 4-1 Celtic’s footballers in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round (first leg) at Łazienkowska on Wednesday. Moreover, the club from the capital of Poland could have won at least 6-1 but its captain Ivica Vrdoljak missed two penalties!

Legia Warsaw 2-2 Wisła Cracow

After a tremendous first half and a terrible second half of the Sunday match Legia’s footballers drew 2-2 with players from Cracow at Łazienkowska. Legia started the game really well – in its second minute Warsaw team’s Miroslav Radović defeated Wisła’s goalkeeper. More than thirty minutes later his first goal for Legia scored Ondrej Duda, who made use of Łukasz Broź’s centre. Moreover, Cracovian team’s player Arkadiusz Głowacki was sent off for an aggressive foul by the referee. After the first forty-five minutes Warsaw team was leading 2-0.
UEFA Europa League: Legia 3-1 SV Ried

In the second leg of the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round Legia’s footballers defeated 3-1 their rivals from Austria and won the promotion to the final, play-off round. Warsaw players had to make up for the 1-2 defeat which they suffered in Ried im Innkreis a week ago.

In the first leg of the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round Legia Warsaw was defeated 2-1 in Austrian town Ried im Innkreis by footballers of the local team SV. In the first half of the game nothing interesting happened on the pitch. For several minutes Warsaw players seemed to have optical predominance on the field but systematically these were Austrian footballers who started playing better and better. Fairly, first 45 minutes finished with a 0-0 draw.

In the second leg of the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round Legia Warsaw managed to defeat 5-1 their Latvian rivals, FK Liepājas Metalurgs. Marek Saganowski, who has recently returned to Legia after several years, showed his best side scoring three goals! Janusz Gol and Michał Żyro scored single goals. The face-saving goal for Latvians was struck by Vladimirs Kamešs.

Footballers of Legia Warsaw weren’t able to defeat their rivals from Białystok and they only drew 1-1 on Sunday. After the first half there was a 0-0 draw. Both goals were scored after the break. The first one was struck by Jagiellonia’s players – Luka Pejović centred the ball to Tomasz Frankowski, who scored the goal with a header.

Legia Warsaw lost 0-2 its last match of the UEFA Europa League’s group stage against Hapoel Tel Aviv Football Club on Thursday evening. During the game, Wojciech Skaba was Warsaw team’s first goalkeeper. Everything due to the fact that Dušan Kuciak was punished with a red card in the match against PSV Eindhoven which took place in the capital of Poland on 30th November.

n the group stage match (UEFA Europa League) between Legia and FC Rapid, the team from Warsaw managed to defeat 3-1 its Romanian opponents. In the first half of the game footballers of both Polish and Romanian clubs were very active on the field. Nevertheless, these were FC Rapid’s players who were controlling the game until the 26th minute when Dan Alexa was punished with the second yellow card (automatically changed into the red one) by the referee from Sweden and had to leave the pitch.

Legia’s footballers played SK Vorwärts in Steyr yesterday. Legia’s rivals have recently won the promotion to the Austrian Regional League. In the first half players from the capital of Poland prevailed over their opponents and thanks to Rafał Wolski’s goal they were leading 1-0. First 45 minutes of the match finished with this result.

In the last away game of the season 2010/2011 Legia’s players managed to smash 5-2 Arka’s footballers. The host team had to finish the game with only eight people on the pitch! One of them was punished with a red card by the referee. The other two footballers suffered injuries but due to the fact that Arka’s coach had made three substitutions earlier, he couldn’t replace those injured players. Michał Kucharczyk struck two goals and Manu, Radović and Borysiuk scored single goals. Arka’s Szmatiuk scored two goals for his club within only two minutes.

Similarly to their senior colleagues, Young Legia’s footballers managed to win their match against Young Wisła’s players (Młoda Ekstraklasa). The third and the most important goal was struck by Dominik Furman, who properly executed the penalty. Young Wisła had to finish the game with only ten men on the field.

Legia’s footballers managed to defeat 2-0 the new Polish football champion Wisła Cracow. There were more than 19.000 people in the stands. Warsaw team’s supporters protested throughout the game against the policy of the government and its decisions of closing stadiums and not letting Polish supporters travel to other cities to see their team’s games. To deride Polish politicians, they invited well known Krzysztof Kononowicz, who is trying to become a famous and important politician and who was presenting his election programme during the game.

Footballers of Young Legia were defeated 2-0 by their young rivals from Łódź (Młoda Ekstraklasa). Moreover, Dariusz Banasik’s players had to finish the game with only… eight men on the pitch! This was the result of two yellow cards which were shown by the referee to Cichocki, Lisowski and Furman. Both goals were struck in the last twenty minutes of the game. Footballers of Young Legia lost 0-1 their match against Young Zagłębie (Młoda Ekstraklasa) in Lubin. The only goal was struck by Deniss Rakels in the 59th minute of the game. There were three players from Legia’s senior squad playing in the match: Janusz Gol, Artur Jędrzejczyk and Bruno Mezenga. Game’s referee showed two red cards.

Footballers of Legia managed to defeat 3-0 their rivals from Gdynia at Łazienkowska on Friday evening. The first goal was scored in the first half by Ivica Vrdoljak who properly executed a penalty. After the break Arka’s goalkeeper was defeated twice – firstly by Bruno Mezenga and secondly, a second before the end of the match, by Tomasz Kiełbowicz who stroke a goal appropriately executing a free kick.

Footballers of Young Legia went to Białystok to play a game against local Young Jagiellonia (Młoda Ekstraklasa) on Monday. They were quite successful, because they managed to beat 3-0 footballers from Podlasie. After the end of the first half Warsaw players were leading 1-0 thanks to Bruno Mezenga’s goal. Michał Efir managed to strike two more goals after the break and eventually Young Legia could happily return to Warsaw.

Legia’s players managed to win the second match in a row. This time footballers of Warsaw defeated 4-1 Korona in Kielce on Friday evening. After the end of the first half Legia was leading 2-1 thanks to Michał Kucharczyk’s and Ivica Vrdoljak’s goals. The second mentioned player properly executed a penalty which was ordered by the referee who saw that Korona’s Zbigniew Małkowski had fouled Legia’s Miroslav Radović. After Legia’s three defeats in a row there were very few fans who believed that Warsaw team could achieve success in the match against Lech Poznań on Friday. Doubts of Legia’s fans were justified because thanks to a tremendous shot of Lech’s Siergiej Kriwiec in the 10th minute of the game the team from Poznań was leading 1-0. 1.400 Lech’s supporters who decided to visit the capital of Poland simply burst with joy.

Players of Young Legia managed to defeat 2-1 footballers of Young GKS in Bełchatów (Młoda Ekstraklasa). The first goal was scored by Kacper Starek in the 10th minute of the match. Three minutes later Bełchatów’s Pieczara equalised. The first half ended with a 1-1 draw. Fortunately, Piotr Augustyniak properly executed a penalty after a foul on Rafał Wolski in the 68th minute of the game and Young Legia won the match.

Both teams had to finish the match with only ten men on the field – Polonia’s Krystian Feciuch was punished with a red card in the 88th minute of the game, and Legia’s Bartosz Widejko had to leave the pitch in the 90th minute of the match as a result of the second yellow card.
