#PREPARATORY CAMP

During a friendly game against FC Viktoria Plzeň that took place on Saturday Legia’s player Ondrej Duda was fouled by David Limbersky. He suffered an injury and everyone thought that he had broken his foot.

On Saturday afternoon Warsaw club played a friendly game against Czech FC Viktoria Plzeň. That match was also the first friendly during Legia’s preparatory camp in Turkish Belek. The first goal was scored in the 21st minute by Michał Kucharczyk, who received a great pass from the left side of the pitch and defeated Petr Bolek with a strong kick.

- We’ll see how we’ll play tomorrow. We’ve got a lot of different tactics to test. On Saturday morning everything will be clear. By playing against FC Viktoria Plzeň we want to return to our normal match rhythm. It will be also a good opportunity to try out our tactics and the way of playing the game – said Legia’s coach Henning Berg before the match against Czech club.

In the last friendly game of Legia’s Austrian summer preparatory camp the club from Warsaw was defeated 2-1 by Bulgarian PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv (Bulgarian: ПФК Локомотив Пловдив). Until the end of the first half players from Bulgaria were leading 1-0. The only goal was scored by Elidiano Marques in the 41st minute of the game.

In the third friendly game of the preparatory camp in Austria AC Sparta Prague (Czech: AC Sparta Praha) outclassed 4-0 Legia Warsaw on Tuesday evening. Although the match seemed to be a tug-of-war situation, these were Czech footballers who managed to strike four goals for their team, not losing even a single one. In the second friendly match that took place during Legia’s preparatory camp in Austria Warsaw team managed to defeat 1-0 Romanian FC Universitatea Cluj. The only goal was scored with a header in the first half of the game by Damian Zbozień. Legia lost the first match during its summer preparatory camp in Austrian Windischgarsten. Warsaw team’s rival FC Metalist Kharkiv (Ukrainian: ФК «Металіст» Харків) won 4-1.

Warsaw footballers won their last friendly match in Cyprus on Wednesday. They defeated 3-1 the hardest opponents of their preparatory camp – Aris Limassol’s players. After the end of the first half these were Cypriot footballers who were leading 1-0. One of their players was fouled in the penalty area in the 21st minute of the game and Łukasz Sosin turned this foul into a goal a minute later. Legia won its second friendly game in Cyprus on Tuesday. This time Warsaw footballers managed to defeat 5-1 APOEL F.C.’s reserves. The first half finished with Legia’s 1-0 leading over players from Nicosia. The only goal was scored from a penalty by Marcin Komorowski. Daisuke Matsui, the Japanese player who has been recently tested by Warsaw club’s coaching staff, performed quite well. He showed off a few tricks and feints. According to Legia’s official website, Warsaw club’s board received a conditional certificate from FIFA, thanks to which Slovakian goalkeeper Dusan Kuciak will be able to play in the team from the capital of Poland. Kuciak participated in Legia’s trainings during Warsaw team’s summer preparatory camp in Austrian Windischgarsten.

Legia drew 1-1 its last game during the preparatory camp in Austria. Warsaw players’ rivals were footballers of German TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. The match took place in Traun. It is possible that German team 1. FSV Mainz 05 will be Legia’s opponent in the third qualifying round of UEFA Europa League. Because of this fact Warsaw team’s coach Maciej Skorża decided to choose the best players for the friendly game against the club from the Bundesliga. The match took place in Schladming. Due to some injuries Maciej Rybus, Michal Hubnik and Dickson Choto weren’t able to appear on the field. Jakub Wawrzyniak’s previous contract with Warsaw club expired on 30th June. Although the player received a few offers from various clubs, he decided to go to Legia’s preparatory camp to Austria where he normally trains with his colleagues. According to “Przegląd Sportowy”, Wawrzyniak should have signed a new contract with Warsaw club very soon. The piece of information has been confirmed.

Legia’s footballers played SK Vorwärts in Steyr yesterday. Legia’s rivals have recently won the promotion to the Austrian Regional League. In the first half players from the capital of Poland prevailed over their opponents and thanks to Rafał Wolski’s goal they were leading 1-0. First 45 minutes of the match finished with this result.

According to Legia’s official website, Wisła Płock’s Senegalese midfielder Matar Guèye is being tested by Legia’s coaching staff. The footballer, who is 24 years old, came to Warsaw team’s preparatory camp in Austria on Sunday morning. Guèye came to Poland in March 2011. Earlier, he used to play for ASC Mbaxaan Thiès.

Legia lost 1-3 its friendly game against MSV Duisburg in Austria. However, Warsaw team’s players could have been delighted with its beginning. After Legia’s first action and thanks to Bruno Soares’s own goal, footballers from the capital of Poland were leading 1-0. Unfortunately, it was only worse since then. In the first friendly game of the preparatory camp in Austria Warsaw footballers managed to defeat 2-1 SV Horn. Until the end of the first half the team from the capital of Poland was leading 1-0 after Maciej Rybus’s goal scored in the third minute. Seconds after the beginning of the second half Michał Kucharczyk struck the second goal for Legia. Legia lost 1-2 its last match of Spanish preparatory camp. This time Warsaw footballers’ rival was Cádiz Club de Fútbol, the team which is currently in the fourth position in the fourth group of Spanish Third Division. We encourage you to see 55 photos taken by turi.

Warsaw players managed to win 2-0 their third match of their Spanish preparatory camp. This time Legia played against FK Inđija (Serbian: ФК Инђија). The first half finished with a goalless draw. Both goals were scored after the break. At first, FK Inđija’s Borislav Jovanović stroke an own goal in the 50th minute of the match. Twenty-seven minutes later Legia’s Manu managed to defeat Serbian goalkeeper Vladimir Vujasinović and the team from the capital of Poland finally won 2-0 the game.

Legia was defeated 2-0 by FC Kuban Krasnodar (Russian: Футбольный клуб "Кубань" Краснодар) in its second friendly game in the preparatory camp in Spain. This has been Warsaw team’s first defeat since the beginning of its preparation to the spring round.

Legia managed to defeat 2-1 FC Lokomotiv Moscow in its first match in the preparatory camp in Spain. After the end of the first half the team from Russia was leading 1-0 thanks to Dmitri Sychev’s goal in the 11th minute of the match.

There have recently been some rumours about Adrian Sikora’s possible transfer to Legia. APOEL F.C.’s (Greek: ΑΠΟΕΛ Ποδόσφαιρο) 30-year-old player hasn’t been able to appear in any matches due to an injury this season. Regarding to Warsaw club’s board’s pronouncement that this is possible they would gain a player from Cypriot league, media began speculating that this is Sikora who Legia wants to buy. Nevertheless, the footballer denied these speculations.

Warsaw team only drew 2-2 with FC KAMAZ Naberezhnye Chelny (Russian: Футбольный клуб КАМАЗ Набережные Челны) in the fourth friendly game in its preparatory camp in Cyprus. The first goal scored KAMAZ’s Michaił Primienow five minutes after the beginning of the game and after the end of the first half Russian club was leading 1-0.

Legia’s footballers train very hard in Cyprus. In the first friendly game they drew 1-1 with FC Mordovia Saransk (Russian: ФК Мордовия Саранск) yesterday. After the first half there was a goalless draw. Three minutes after the beginning of the second half FC Mordovia’s Kirill Panchenko managed to score a goal for his club. Wojciech Trochim is going to take part in Sandecja’s 10-day preparatory camp in Zakopane. The team from Nowy Sącz has been testing Legia’s midfielder for a couple of days. When the camp comes to an end, Sandecja’s board will make the decision if it buys Warsaw team’s footballer or not.

Damian Zbozień decided to risk and to join Legia in its trainings before the beginning of the spring round. 21-year-old defender will fly with other Warsaw team’s players to Cyprus. Legia’s coaching staff will make the decision about footballer’s future after the preparatory camp. If Zbozień doesn’t convince Maciej Skorża it’s possible that he may lose his place in Sandecja’s first lineup. “I believe that if you don’t risk you won’t win. Trainings with Legia won’t take away my skills” – said Zbozień.

Fangzhuo Dong, Chinese footballer who came to Warsaw during the last winter break, leaves Legia. He didn’t manage to fight his place in the first lineup and that’s why members of Legia’s board decided not to extend contract with the player. There were only four matches (two in the league and two in the Polish Cup) in the spring round of the season 2009/2010 he appeared in.

Wawa Serges Pascal, ASEC Mimosas’s foster child, should come to Legia for tests. Nevertheless, there’s a question if the player manages to arrive in Grodzisk Wielkopolski, where Warsaw team has its preparatory camp at the moment, because he has some problems with visa. If the footballer from Ivory Coast doesn’t manage to apply for this visa within few days, he’ll join Legia while its camp in France where Warsaw players stay from 18th July to 1st August.

According to "Przegląd Sportowy", Maciej Skorża will be Legia's new coach. He should be introduced to the media on 1st June. What's certain is the fact that Warsaw footballers are going to have a preparatory camp in Grodzisk Wielkopolski. It can't be excluded that Legia will go for another camp or will participate in a friendly tournament.
