Dong became Legia`s player

25-year-old Chinese, Fangzhuo Dong, passed medical tests on Monday and signed a contract with Warsaw club. According to "Przegląd Sportowy", the contract has been concluded for eighteen months. Dong took part in both preparatory camps (in Spain and in Cyprus), played in seven matches and managed to score three goals.

Legia drew goalless its last friendly match against Swedish GAIS in Cyprus. Warsaw team's coach, Jan Urban chose to this game the strongest lineup that will probably play in the league match against Cracovia Cracow (Ekstraklasa) next week. Legia didn't manage to win its third friendly match whilst the preparatory camp in Cyprus. This time the team from Warsaw was beaten 4-2 by Russian FC Mordovia Saransk. Both goals for Legia were stroke by tested Fangzhuo Dong. Moreover, he scored the first goal in the match, so Warsaw team was leading 1-0. Unfortunately, after the end of the first half Legia's footballers were losing 1-2. In the 90th minute of the match a red card was shown by the referee to Tomasz Kiełbowicz. Friendly: Legia 0-2 Rad Belgrad

Legia was defeated 2-0 by Rad Belgrad in the second friendly match of its preparatory camp in Cyprus. The match began at 9:30 a.m. (Polish time) and lasted for 2x30 minutes. Footballers of Legia had their first friendly match of the Cypriot preparatory camp today. Their rival was Bulgarian PFC Levski Sofia. The game began at 2 p.m. (Polish time). Both goals were stroke on penalty shots. They were brilliantly executed by Maciej Iwański. Warsaw team had to finish the match with ten men on the pitch, because Ariel Borysiuk was punished with a red card. The situation happened in the 87th minute of the game as a result of the second yellow card. Legia’s next game against FK Rad Belgrade is on 15th February 2010. Two new footballers participated in Legia's evening training. One of them took part in Warsaw team's preparatory camp in Spain. This is Dong Fangzhuo who came back from China with visa. The other one is defender Peter Moyo whose arrival was announced yesterday. Both players trained with other members of the team in full swing.
Goran Mujanović tested by Legia’s coaching staff

Goran Mujanović is the first player who will be tested by Warsaw team’s coaching staff whilst the preparatory camp in Cyprus. NK Varteks’s footballer joined the team yesterday afternoon and took part in the afternoon training. The Croatian can play either as an offensive midfielder or as an attacker.

During Legia's first training in Cyprus there was present a player from Croatia, Goran Mujanović. He's apparently not the only footballer whom Legia’s staff is going to watch very closely in Ayia Napa. "Dong Fangzhuo should join us tomorrow" – said Warsaw team's coach, Jan Urban. Besides, Legia's lineup should be joined by a Zimbabwean, Peter Moyo, too.

Fangzhuo went to China to extend his visa

Legia wants to offer Dong Fangzhuo a six-month contract. 25-year-old Chinese attacker is flying to his country today. He needs to extend his visa and to settle a work permit. By hiring this footballer Warsaw club wants to guard itself against a possible injury of Chinyama, Mięciel or Grzelak. Due to his performance during the friendly match with Hajduk Split, Fangzhuo convinced Legia’s coach and board members to give him a chance.

Legia was defeated 1-0 by Hajduk Split in the last friendly match of its preparatory camp in Mijas (Spain). The only goal was scored by Ahmad Sharbin, who properly executed a penalty in the 76th minute of the game. Warsaw team’s coach, Jan Urban, decided that his best players would appear on the pitch. That’s why people who gathered near the stadium were able to see those footballers whom Legia’s supporters used to watch in the autumn round. Unfortunately, there was no attacker on the field, because Bartłomiej Grzelak is ill, and Takesure Chinyama and Marcin Mięciel suffered injuries. U-23: Call-ups for Jędrzejczyk and Paluchowski

Artur Jędrzejczyk and Adrian Paluchowski have been called up by coach Stefan Majewski to the new-created U-23 Polish national team for the game against Wales. At first, there is going to be a preparatory camp (3.09.-7.09.) in Warsaw. The match takes place on 8th September at 7.30 p.m. at Richmond Park Carmarthen in Wales. Two footballers will be called up when Polish national team’s coach, Leo Beenhakker, chooses the squad for the match Poland – Northern Ireland.
U-21: Call-ups for Borysiuk and Rybus

Ariel Borysiuk and Maciej Rybus are in the wide squad of the Polish youth national team for the preparatory camp which takes place between 30th August and 9th September. From the wide squad coach Andrzej Zamilski will choose 18 players who will participate in the preparatory camp in Grodzisk Wielkopolski. Within the framework of the camp there are going to be two qualifying matches of the UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship (Spain – Poland on 4th September and Poland – Finland on 8th September) played.

'Kamil Majkowski was loaned from Legia to Znicz Pruszków two weeks ago. However, the player didn't appear on the pitch during Znicz's first league game against Wisła Płock. "Kamil came to our team with ankle joint's injury which he suffered during Legia's preparatory camp in Austria. Fortunately, he resumed the trainings about a week ago and he'll be surely taken into consideration for the Friday match against GKS Katowice. We only have to prepare him with regard to the exertion issues" – said Krzysztof Chrobak, Znicz's coach.

Damian Zawadzki won`t be Young Legia`s player

MSP Szamotuły’s defender, Damian Zawadzki, won’t be Young Legia’s footballer. Player who was on tests at Łazienkowska two years ago, has been recently tested during Young Legia’s preparatory camp in Bartoszyce. LL!’s editorial staff got an information that Zawadzki won’t become Legia’s footballer before the beginning of the new season. 18-year-old defender should be tested again in a year. According to team’s coaches, he’s a player of promise, however he presents lack of experience on the field. He played 45 minutes in the game against Jeziorak Iława and half an hour in the match against Olimpia Elbląg.

Legia's attacker, Kamil Majkowski, is curing his ankle joint's injury at the moment. He suffered it during the preparatory camp in Austria. The footballer spoke to Mirosław Trzeciak concerning his future in Warsaw club. "I was suggested that I could be loaned. But I have to cure at first" – said the player. "Majkowski and Kosecki are footballers who should play first and foremost. Time flies then.

Last press speculations about the transfer of Jakub Wawrzyniak to Panathinaikos Athens were only false reports. The footballer of the Polish national team who was disqualified in Greece for three months comes back to Warsaw and goes with Legia to Austria to a preparatory camp on Wednesday. "I was aware of the fact that Panathinaikos's board wasn't going to extend my contract. I spoke to Greeks about this topic, that's why I'm not surprised of coming back to Warsaw" – said Wawrzyniak in an interview for Legia LIVE!. There have been recently some pieces of information concerning the fact that AEK Athens is interested in the player. "These were only some press speculations" – said footballer.
Trochim returned from the loan

There are three players of Young Legia who train together with senior squad in Mirków: Jakub Kosecki, Adam Banasiak and Maciej Górski. Wojciech Trochim who spent the last season on a loan in Dolcan Ząbki also takes part in trainings. 20-year-old midfielder from Mińsk Mazowiecki played in the First Division 27 matches. He managed to score one goal. Trochim also played in the first team of Legia (one league match – six minutes in Sosnowiec and two Ekstraklasa Cup's games). He appeared in 20 matches of the Młoda Ekstraklasa and scored 7 goals. He's got a chance now to convince the board about his skills.
Preparatory camp in Austria

The plan of Legia's preparation for the new season has crystallised. From the 1st to the 10th July the team is going to have exercises in Austria. Originally, the preparatory camp should have taken place in Grodzisk Wielkopolski. However, it turned out that GKS Bełchatów is going to have its camp there. That's why most likely the friendly match against Lech Poznań won't be played. "Wojskowi" finish their vacation on 17th June. They should show up at Łazienkowska next day.
