Legia lost its third match in a row. In the first leg of the Polish Cup’s quarterfinal, Stefan Białas’s footballers weren’t able to beat Ruch Chorzów at Cicha. Moreover, thanks to Ruch’s Artur Sobiech, who entered the pitch in the 57th minute and scored a goal in the 73rd mnute of the game, this was the host team which managed to win the match. Jan Urban, who was coaching Legia from June 2007 to mid-March 2010, managed to win 70, to draw 30 and to lose 24 matches. Urban’s Legia won 49, drew 15 and lost 16 league games. Legia lost its second match in a row. This time Jan Urban's footballers were defeated 1-0 in Bytom by local Polonia. The only goal was scored by Marek Bazik in the 72nd minute of the game. Simultaneously the team from Warsaw didn't take advantage of Wisła's 0-0 draw in Białystok on Friday to be the first in the league table. Legia's players lost 0-1 their match against Odra Wodzisław. This is hard to describe what people, who gathered at Łazienkowska on Sunday afternoon, had to watch on the field from the perspective of the "Kryta" stand. Warsaw footballers should have made use of yesterday's Wisła's defeat and won today's competition to occupy the first position in the league.

Legia managed to win its first official match this year. The team from Warsaw defeated 2-1 Cracovia Cracow at Hutnik's stadium. After a lot of drama on the pitch, Legia managed to win 2-1 its match against Cracovia Cracow (Ekstraklasa). The first goal was scored by Cracovia's Dariusz Pawlusiński in the 11th minute of the game. Few minutes later Legia's Dickson Choto was punished with a red card by the referee. That's why Legia had to play with just ten men on the field.

Legia didn't manage to win its third friendly match whilst the preparatory camp in Cyprus. This time the team from Warsaw was beaten 4-2 by Russian FC Mordovia Saransk. Both goals for Legia were stroke by tested Fangzhuo Dong. Moreover, he scored the first goal in the match, so Warsaw team was leading 1-0. Legia was defeated 2-0 by Rad Belgrad in the second friendly match of its preparatory camp in Cyprus. The match began at 9:30 a.m. (Polish time) and lasted for 2x30 minutes. Footballers of Legia had their first friendly match of the Cypriot preparatory camp today. Their rival was Bulgarian PFC Levski Sofia. The game began at 2 p.m. (Polish time). Both goals were stroke on penalty shots. They were brilliantly executed by Maciej Iwański. Warsaw team had to finish the match with ten men on the pitch, because Ariel Borysiuk was punished with a red card. The situation happened in the 87th minute of the game as a result of the second yellow card. Legia’s next game against FK Rad Belgrade is on 15th February 2010. Legia managed to defeat Arka Gdynia in Warsaw in the last game (Ekstraklasa) of the current year on Sunday. Legia drew 0-0 with Zagłębie Lubin at Dialog Arena on Friday. There were about 9000 people in the stands. Legia supporters were also present at the stadium (about 800 fans from Warsaw), however its entering was a little bit problematic. What's interesting, is the fact that supporters from Lubin lighted some flares and hung a transparent due to which they had to fight with security officers. Footballers of Young Legia managed to win 2-1 with players of Young GKS Bełchatów (Młoda Ekstraklasa) in Warsaw. Thanks to Adam Banasiak's goal, who properly executed a penalty, Legia was leading 1-0. Four minutes before the break GKS's Krystian Pieczara equalised. In the 50th minute of the match Michał Żyro stroke the second goal for Warsaw club and Legia won the game.

Legia managed to defeat 1-0 GKS in Bełchatow after Maciej Iwański's goal in the 85th minute of the match. There were 855 Warsaw supporters at the stadium who galvanised their players whole 90 minutes. Fans who gathered at Legia's stadium on Friday had to watch a very poor local derby match between two Warsaw teams – Legia and Polonia. The game finished with the result 1-1, but both goals were stroke quite accidentally. Frankly, neither Legia nor Polonia were able to create appropriate situations to score goals during the match. Warsaw team's players managed to defeat 1-0 Wisła Cracow at Zagłębie's stadium in Sosnowiec yesterday. The only goal was scored by Miroslav Radović in the 34th minute of the game. Footballers of Young Legia beat 4-0 Young Piast (Mloda Ekstraklasa) at Lazienkowska on Sunday. Warsaw players predominated in the whole match. Jakub Kosecki stroke three goals, the one was added by Michal Zyro. After the first half young footballers were leading 2-0. Young Wolves’ (Polish: Młode Wilki) player, Jakub Szumski, debuted in the team of Young Legia in the 63rd minute of the game when he replaced Kostiantyn Machnowskij.

Legia’s footballers managed to score the second goal in away matches this season, however this wasn’t enough to win with Piast on Saturday. In Gliwice, Warsaw players were losing 0-1 since the 47th minute due to Gamla’s goal. Fortunately, Maciej Iwanski equalised thirty minutes later. This is the fourth game which Legia wasn’t able to win at different (in comparison to Lazienkowska) stadium. In the stands there were about 300 supporters from the capital of Poland.

In the 9th fixture of the Ekstraklasa, Jagiellonia deservedly defeated 2-0 Legia in Białystok. Both goals were stroke by Warsaw team’s former player, Kamil Grosicki. In the 1/16 Polish Cup's final Legia managed to defeat 2-0 local GKP in Gorzów Wielkopolski on Tuesday. The first goal was stroke in the 18th minute by Sebastian Szałachowski. However, for the next one we had to wait until the 93rd minute – Marcin Mięciel shot the ball from the 40th metre. Legia's players took advantage of the fact that GKP's goalkeeper decided to help his colleagues as they were executing a free-kick – Warsaw footballers performed an effective counterattack. Warsaw team's footballers managed to defeat 2-0 Lech's players at Łazienkowska on Friday. Both goals were scored in the second half. The first one was stroke in the 62nd minute by Bartłomiej Grzelak, who hasn't been recently chosen to the first lineup by the coach, Jan Urban. Legia's footballers defeated 2-0 Lechia on Friday. In a league game, Warsaw players managed to score more than a single goal over one and a half months ago. Legia's attacker, Takesure Chinyama, who is fully recovering after an injury, appeared in the match from the first minute. The Zimbabwean did what he had to do – he stroke a goal and Warsaw team was leading. The next (and the last) goal was scored in the second half by Miroslav Radović. Players of Young Legia deservedly defeated 3-1 footballers of Young Śląsk (Młoda Ekstraklasa) on Sunday. The first goal was scored by Damian Zbozień in the 30th minute of the game. In the injury time of the first half, Krzysztof Kaczmarek from Śląsk managed to equalise. However, he couldn't have been happy with this fact, because several seconds later, just before the break, Legia was leading, again – Tomasz Jarzębowski stroke a goal.

Legia only managed to draw goalless with Śląsk in Wrocław on Saturday. The match was poor, Warsaw players weren't able to generate complete situations after which they could score goals. Moreover, both teams were bidden farewell with catcalls after the end of the game. In the backs, Dickson Choto acquitted himself pretty well. Unfortunately, neither Marcin Mięciel, nor Takesure Chinyama could defeat Śląsk's goalkeeper, Wojciech Kaczmarek. In Wrocław there was only one Legia's supporter present. Legia managed to defeat Polonia Bytom 1-0 after Sebastian Szałachowski's goal in the 18th minute of the game. In the stands there were about three thousand fans. It was much better after the break, especially as Warsaw fans supported their footballers amazingly loud.
